Naked Madroño / Vulnerability

This piece was created from an oil pastel sketch of the beautiful Madroño bushes found throughout Madrid. When I observed the plant, the white flowers had already wilted and the small casings had fallen away, leaving the stamens exposed—beautiful in their own right.
