This interpretation of the Yucca Flowers emerged after I shifted from using oil pastels to working with charcoal—a medium I hadn’t picked up in years—when sketching the flowers in the park. The change led to a more figurative approach, resulting in shaded, autumn-inspired forms of the flowers.
